The Archipel Theater

The work on the exterior of the round shape which conforms the theater was inspired by the garnet, the precious and mythical stone of the city of Perpignan. The intense red and the application technique aimed to create an effect of transparency, luminosity and mysterious depth such as the stone itself.

The superposition of red shades and the uneven colour traces made it possible. Phrases related to the Oriental Pyrenees' region were selected and displayed in-between the red texture. It was for sure a challenging work to get to portray such a complex texture to the scale of an architectural building but colour certainly became a veritable player.
